First Muslim Miss England crowned

    دختری افغان، اولين ملکه زيبايی مسلمان انگلستان شد

A teenager from an Afghan Family who was born in Uzbekistan has become the first Muslim beauty contestant to be crowned Miss England.

دختری مسلمان که از والدينی افغانی در ازبکستان به دنيا آمده،
اولين زن مسلمانی شد که تاج ملکه زيبايی انگلستان را بر سر می گذارد.

Hammasa Kohistani, 18, said she was "happy to make history" and was looking forward to representing England in the Miss World championships in China.

حماسه کوهستانی، ۱۸ ساله، اعلام کرد که خوشحال است که "تاريخ ساز" شده و مشتاقانه منتظر است تا در رقابتهای دختر شايسته جهان در چين به رقابت بپردازد.

She was born in Tashkent, central Uzbekistan, after her parents were forced to flee Afghanistan.

خانم کوهستانی بعد از آن که پدر و مادرش ناگزير به فرار از افغانستان شدند، در تاشکند ازبکستان به دنيا آمده است.

The brunette, who speaks six languages including Russian and Persian, was selected from 40 contestants. She was crowned on Saturday night following the two-day competition at Liverpool's Olympia Theatre.

وی که به شش زبان از جمله روسی و فارسی صحبت می کند، از ميان ۴۰ رقيب برگزيده شد. وی پس از مراسمی دو روزه در ليورپول شنبه شب، سوم سپتامبر تاج ملکه زيبايی را بر سر گذاشت.

Dressed in an ivory white chiffon and silk ball gown designed and made by her mother, the teenager spoke of her joy at winning the title. "When they announced that I had won I thought I had misheard. I hoped they hadn't, but it took a second to sink in."

خانم کوهستانی که می گويد مادرش در انتخاب و تهيه لباسش نقش داشته بود، اعلام کرد: "وقتی آنها گفتند که من برنده شده ام، فکر کردم که اشتباه شنيدم. دعا می کردم اشتباه نکرده باشند، يک لحظه طول کشيد تا باورم شود."

Asked about her feelings at being the first Muslim Miss England, she said: "I'm making history and I'm very happy. Hopefully I won't be the last."

وقتی از وی درباره احساسش به عنوان اولين دختر مسلمان برنده اين افتخار سوال شد، اين دختر ۱۸ ساله پاسخ داد: "من تاريخ ساز شده ام و بسيار خوشحالم. اميدوارم من آخرين نفر (مسلمان) نباشم."

The student, who was known as Miss Maya after the Asian fashion house which sponsored her, has also been offered a part in a forthcoming Bollywood movie.

به خانم کوهستانی که توانست بر يک رقيب مسلمان ديگر، سارا مندلی، ۲۳ ساله از ناتينگهام غلبه کند، برای بازی در يک فيلم باليوودی پيشنهاد شده است.

Among those Miss Kohistani beat was another Muslim entrant, Sarah Mendly, 23, who was voted Miss Nottingham. Miss Mendly had been among the favourites but her entry caused controversy when Liverpool's Islamic institute called on her to pull out because contestants are often scantily clad.

دوشيزه مندلی بخت بلندی داشت ولی ورودش به اين مسابقات در ميان مسلمانان ليورپول جنجال براه انداخت و يک موسسه اسلامی از وی خواست کنار برود زيرا رقبای اين تورنمنت اغلب بايد لباسهای بدن نما بپوشند.

The Miss World championships will be held in December.

مسابقات جهانی دختر شايسته در ماه دسامبر برگزار می شود.
